Our specific path is to understand the diverse interactions of processes and materials, to build processes and process chains based on them, and to develop suitable system technology with which the new or improved processes can be used. With laser beams and arcs as an energy source, processes from all categories of DIN 8580, from joining by brazing to coating by laser powder deposition welding, are researched and further developed for customer benefit. Metallic materials for components in the micro and macro range from sensors to aircraft wings are mainly examined.
