LJUNSTROM: A Long History of CO2 Reduction with a Vision for the Future

by | Oct 12, 2022

Since 1923, LJUNGSTRÖM technology has helped to reduce global warming by saving over 50 Billion tonnes of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere. In addition to a broad range of products for process efficiency improvement through waste heat recovery and utilization, LJUNGSTRÖM solutions are proven in flue gas conditioning applications such as desulfurization (DeSOx) and denitrification plants (High-/Low- Dust SCR DeNOx).

Combining expertise and experience, LJUNGSTRÖM offers a range of application specific solutions to improve the operation and energy efficiency for a variety of industrial applications, and for processes that are sensitive to pollutants, including a unique flue gas SO3 mitigation technology with achievable reductions of over 95%. These proven technologies may be easily adapted to the new application on carbon capture systems where flue gas temperature and SO3 control are critical to successful operation.

Dr. Dominik Scheid, Director of Carbon Capture Solutions at LJUNGSTRӦM said: “The field of Carbon Capture is a tremendous asset for our business. We are committed to being a leader in the industrial fight against climate change, and the expansion of our product portfolio and technological development will provide our customers with smart additions in the field of carbon capture efficiency improvement.”

For carbon capture, a range of processes such as those planned for CCUS on cement plants can benefit from LJUNGSTRÖM technology in the preconditioning of feed flue gas. They offer a range of premium quality, reliable and space efficient regenerative heat recovery products that can be used, for example, in conjunction with wet scrubbers to maximize the operational economics.

The proven SO3 mitigation solution makes applications of wet scrubbers such as DCC’s even more efficient and has a positive impact on the techno-economic analysis of CO2 capture technologies. LJUNGSTRӦM has a wide background of industrial experience, including participating in technical analysis for studies since 2008 of flue gas heat recovery applications around oxy firing processes.

LJUNGSTRӦM is a silver sponsor of Carbon Capture Technology Expo Europe 2022, 19-20 October, Messe Bremen, Germany
