Dr. Adekola Lawal is a Chartered Chemical Engineer and certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) with over 18 years of experience in delivering decarbonisation solutions, with a strong emphasis on carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS). A recognised subject matter expert and recipient of a CCUS industry award, he has contributed to numerous high-profile projects across power generation, refining, cement, and low-carbon fuels.
His expertise covers CO₂ capture technologies, transport and storage systems, flow assurance, venting and depressurisation design, and the integration of hydrogen and carbon value chains. He has held Study Manager and Engineering Manager roles on major projects including Holcim UK’s Cauldon Cement CCS Project, the 7CO₂ Liquefaction and Shipping Hub, and the Grain CCGT CCS development. He has also supported a range of CCUS initiatives as a consultant, including a recent European consortium project focused on decarbonising a cement facility and converting captured CO₂ into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
Dr. Lawal is the author of over 20 peer-reviewed publications on carbon capture and storage, reflecting his ongoing commitment to advancing the field and supporting the transition to a low-carbon future.
