
Margarethe Kleczar

Since December 2024, Margarethe Kleczar is appointed as Head of CO2 Lifecycle Management at SEFE Energy GmbH with the task to extend the portfolio of decarbonization solutions by developing the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) business for SEFE’s customers.
From July 2020 she was among the pioneers of the energy transition when she developed in her role as Vice President for Carbon Management & Hydrogen (CM&H) at Wintershall Dea AG, an attractive portfolio of CO2 storage capacities (CCS exploration licenses) in the North Sea (e.g. Greensand, Havstjerne, Luna, etc.) and to initiate comprehensive cross-border CCS value chains (e.g. CO2nnectNow, EU2NSEA, etc.) in Europe. To initiate the public and political discussion around CCS and low carbon fuels, she regularly promoted technological diversity at industry events.
Margarethe was employed by Wintershall and later Wintershall Dea first in 2015, where she coordinated drilling projects for oil and gas in Germany. In 2018, she moved over to the Headquarter in Kassel where she put her expertise in project management (PM) consulting various international project teams and providing new PM governance structures.
Prior to that, she worked for more than eight years as a geologist and project coordinator for various consultancies in Germany and Namibia, specializing in the field of groundwater and raw materials exploration.
