Rodrigo Rivera has a Chemical Engineering background from the Polytechnic Institute of Mexico 2004, with development on polymeric materials, nanoparticles and petrochemistry. He afterwards obtained Master and PhD degrees in France, Université Paris VI and Ecole des Mines, respectively. Although the techno-economic study of Hydrogen production was the main topic of the doctorate, he acquired extensive experience on solvents needed for carbon capture. After a Postdoc on Techno-economics and Learning curves for innovative technologies, he rejoined academia as Associate professor and pilot plant developer for Gas Separation and applied Cryogenics in the field of carbon capture, biogas, natural gas and process optimization. In 2021, he joined Pentair as Technology Leader to foster developments on Biogas and Carbon Capture, as well as leading to standardization of technology components.
