Head of Department,
Fraunhofer ISE
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sabrina Zellmer is University professor for battery and fuel cell process technology at the Technische University in Braunschweig (Institute for Particle Technology iPAT) and Deputy Director and Head of Department Process and Production Engineering for Sustainable Energy Storage Systems at the Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST.
Sabrina Zellmer studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig, where she continued her studies in the field of nanomaterials as a research assistant at the Institute for Particle Technology. During her time at the Institute of Particle Technology, she expanded her scientific expertise through her work at the Battery LabFactory Braunschweig (BLB), where she became head of the ‘Future Materials’ research area and subsequently head of the junior research group ‘Solid State Battery Materials and Electrodes’. Sabrina Zellmer received her doctorate from the Technical University of Braunschweig with a thesis on ‘Stabilisation of small molecules and spray drying of metal oxide nanoparticles’. Since 2019, Sabrina Zellmer has been Head of the Process and Production Technology for Sustainable Energy Storage Systems department and, since 2023, deputy director at the Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST.
